Managing and Supervising Privatization of Islamic Education within a Decentralized Educational System in West Sumatra

This article examines the management and supervision of Islamic education in West Sumatra within a highly decentralized educational system. It addresses belief among Indonesians that centralized governance leads to regional unfairness hinders community involvement. In system, local governments have autonomy control their own functions, including education, aligning with goals needs communities. The growth is result this using qualitative research methods such as document analysis interviews conducted Padang Panjang representative Muslim regions Sumatra. Findings indicate planning process initiated by mayor, who appoints government institutions like Social Welfare Unit Education Departments oversee region, following top-down approach.
